Fall Colours

Discover the majestic beauty of the fall leaves in the hardwood forest from high above at the Scorch Lake Lookout

Itinerary

Kingscote Lake Access Point # 15 departing noon Friday. We’ll travel in Kevlar ultra light weight canoes, paddling & portaging approximately 8 km to our site on Byers Lake where we will camp for both nights.

Day #2 will take us up the beautiful York River where we will portage into Scorch Lake, to traverse the picturesque lookout trail and have lunch overlooking the fall colours.  A return to camp with some free time to relax, swim or fish before eating a hot homemade dinner to complete the day. (Approximately distance travelled 8km)

Day #3 wake up to the smell of coffee and fresh baked goods before we continue our journey home down the York River. Our favourite parts of the river will include small portages around beautiful cascading water falls, powerful Gut Rapids and famous High Falls where we will have lunch. These all will be highlights of your day. (Approximately distance travelled 8km)

This will be an 'epic adventure' that will change and enhance your experience of wilderness canoe travel.
